Avoid o2 Germany roaming fees
Germanyo2 charges €2.49 per minute for calls home from most non-EU countries, and its own monthly Roaming Plus add-on only discounts Switzerland — it doesn't touch that rate.
How o2 Germany charges for roaming
o2's real "rest of world" rate (Zone 4 — most non-EU countries, including the US) is €2.49 per minute. Its cheapest non-EU tier (Zone 2: Switzerland, UK, Andorra) is €0.54/min, so the destination matters far more than the plan. Inside the EU, "roam like at home" rules apply your normal domestic rate.
Daily pass: Roaming Plus add-on from €4.99/month (Switzerland only) — no day pass for the rest of the world
