Frequently asked questions
How am I billed for a number?+
The fee is billed automatically from your prepaid balance every 30 days — there's no separate subscription or invoice.
Do incoming calls cost extra?+
Yes. Incoming calls are billed per minute from your prepaid balance at the rate shown for each country, and where the caller is calling from doesn't change it. If you forward calls to your phone, the forwarded call is also billed at the normal calling rate to that phone.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes — cancel a number anytime from your dashboard. There's no contract or minimum term.
What happens if my balance runs out?+
If your balance can't cover the next charge, the number is paused until you top up and reactivate it. A paused number is released if it is not reactivated in time. You can try to rent it again, but it may no longer be available.
Can I use the number as my caller ID?+
Yes. Pick it under Caller ID in the dialer, and on routes that support it, the people you call see your number. When they call it back, the call rings in your browser.
Do I need documents to rent a number?+
No. US and Canada numbers work right away, with no documents or ID checks.
Are missed calls or voicemail free?+
Yes — a missed, declined or busy call is never charged, and voicemail messages are always free. You only pay for the minutes you actually answer.
How do I check a number works before I give it out?+
Use the test call button in your dashboard — it places an immediate call to the number so you can confirm it rings before you share it.
Can my whole team share one number?+
Yes, with Team Calling. A shared number can ring your whole team at once or round-robin between members, and everyone can see it as a team number.
Can I pick a specific area code?+
Yes — browse the area codes hub to find a number in the area you want, then rent it from your dashboard.
Can the number receive text messages?+
Yes. Texts sent to your number show under Messages in your dashboard, and we email them to you unless you turn that off. They are text only, with no pictures, and are included in the number's price with no per-message charge. You can delete a text at any time, and texts are kept for 90 days.
Can I send text messages from my number?+
No. A rented number receives text messages, but QuikRing does not send them.
Will verification codes arrive on my number?+
Some services do not send verification codes to virtual numbers, so we can't promise that a code from a particular service will reach you.
How do I get my voicemail?+
If you miss a call, the caller can leave a voicemail. It is transcribed automatically, and you can read and play it under Messages in your dashboard. We email you when one arrives, and voicemail is free.
