What actually happens when I place a call?+
Your browser opens a secure connection to our servers, which route the call out over a carrier network (Twilio or Telnyx) to the number you dialed — no app, no plug-in.
Can I call a US 1-800 number from abroad?+
Yes. Most US and Canadian toll-free numbers (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833) can be dialed from QuikRing in your browser, from almost any country. The price per minute is shown before you dial. A few toll-free numbers only accept calls from inside the US; if one does not connect, you are not charged.
Can I call a US company or my bank from abroad?+
Yes. Dial the company's US number, toll-free or regular, the same way you would dial any phone. You see the price per minute before the call starts.
Do I need a phone number to sign up?+
No — just an email address. You can rent a US or Canada number later if you want one; it receives calls and text messages.
Will I be charged automatically every month?+
No. You buy credits up front and we deduct only for the minutes you actually use. There's no recurring plan.
Who can listen to my calls?+
Calls are encrypted between your browser and our calling network, and we don't sell call data. Recording is off unless you turn on call recording in Settings. On a team account, the owner can turn on recording for the team's calls, and the owner and admins can play those recordings back. QuikRing staff can play a recording when it is needed to support your account, and every playback is logged.
Is my first call free?+
After you sign up, your first call is free for up to one minute when it goes to a destination included in the offer. The rates page shows which countries qualify.
Do I pay for calls that don't connect?+
No. If the line is busy, nobody answers or the call fails, nothing is taken from your balance. You pay once the call is answered, including by voicemail.
How good is the call quality?+
Calls run on Twilio's and Telnyx's carrier networks. For the clearest sound, use a headset and a stable Wi-Fi or wired connection; a call needs only a small but steady amount of bandwidth.
Which number does the person I call see?+
A QuikRing number by default. After your first top-up, you can verify your own number and, on routes that support it, show it instead. Or use a number you rent from QuikRing.
Do my credits expire?+
No. Unused credit never expires.
How can I pay?+
On Stripe's secure checkout page, with major cards such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and depending on your country and device also Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link. We never see your card number.
