Avoid Fastweb roaming fees
ItalyWithout a travel pass, Fastweb charges €0.40 per minute for calls from the US, and its passes range from €3.99/day up to €29.99 for a 30-day bundle.
How Fastweb charges for roaming
Fastweb Mobile runs on Vodafone's network and its roaming add-ons reuse Vodafone's own product names (Smart Passport, Travel Mondo) — its pay-as-you-go rate without a pass is €0.40/min outgoing from the US, billed per second.
Daily pass: Smart Passport: €3.99-€6.99/24h depending on zone; Travel Mondo 30 giorni: €29.99/30 days (200 min included)

How to avoid the daily fee
Skip the pass comparison — connect to Wi-Fi and call through QuikRing in your browser instead of choosing between Fastweb's per-day and per-month options.
Standard out-of-plan rate: €0.40 per minute calling out from the US without a pass (Fastweb prices per destination via its own calculator)
First minute free to select destinations, with a verified email.

Frequently asked questions
Does Fastweb need a travel pass to call home from outside the EU?
No, but without one you pay the pay-as-you-go rate — €0.40/min from the US, for example — billed per second rather than a flat bundle price.
