What a roaming voice call costs
Voice calls abroad are priced per minute, and the rate depends on the plan. Plans and names change often, so check the rate on your own plan before you travel.

Calling home isn't a special case
It's easy to assume that a call to your own country, to a number you'd normally reach for free, would be treated differently from any other international call. It isn't. Once you're roaming, an outbound voice call is an outbound voice call, billed at the plan's per-minute roaming rate regardless of where you're calling.
Calling over Wi-Fi instead of the cellular network
A browser calling service places the call over whatever internet connection you're already on, hotel or cafe Wi-Fi included, instead of the cellular network T-Mobile's roaming rate applies to.
