Avoid ahamo roaming fees
Japanahamo's generous data roaming doesn't extend to phone calls — those are billed separately on Docomo's network, and ahamo's own site doesn't publish the rate.
How ahamo charges for roaming
ahamo's headline roaming benefit — 30GB of data usable abroad at no extra charge — is data only. Voice calls run on Docomo's network and are billed at Docomo's own per-country rates, which ahamo's own page doesn't restate.
Daily pass: 30GB monthly data allowance usable in 91 countries at no extra charge — data only, doesn't cover calls

How to avoid the daily fee
Don't assume your data allowance covers calls — connect to Wi-Fi and call through QuikRing in your browser instead.
Standard out-of-plan rate: Not published on an official page we could verify (ahamo runs voice roaming on Docomo's WORLD WING network and defers to Docomo's own rates — e.g. ¥125/min calling Japan from South Korea)
First minute free to select destinations, with a verified email.
Step-by-step instructions
- 01Switch off Data Roaming in your cellular settings before leaving home.
- 02Connect to your hotel, Airbnb, or airport Wi-Fi network.
- 03Open QuikRing in your browser and call any number. After your first top-up, verify your own number and, on routes that support it, the people you call see it.
