Cruise line guide
Call from Celebrity Cruises
On a Celebrity Cruises ship, the way around roaming charges is airplane mode, the ship's Wi-Fi and an internet calling service.
What Celebrity Cruises says
Wi-Fi: Premium Wi-Fi and Basic Wi-Fi
Its own page says the cost of using your phone's cellular connection at sea comes from your mobile carrier, not from the cruise line.
It lists ship-to-shore calls from the stateroom phone at $7.95 USD per minute.
It lists $7.95 USD per minute for someone calling the ship from land, charged to the caller.
Its plan list ties video or audio calling to Premium Wi-Fi.
It lists limits on Basic Wi-Fi, such as restricted websites or no audio and video, so check a plan before you buy it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I call a regular phone number from a Celebrity Cruises ship?
Yes, over the ship's Wi-Fi with an internet calling service. QuikRing dials any mobile or landline from a browser. The line's Wi-Fi plan has to let the call through.
How do I avoid roaming charges on Celebrity Cruises?
Turn on airplane mode before the ship leaves port, then turn Wi-Fi on and use the ship's Wi-Fi. If you leave airplane mode off, your phone can join the ship's cellular network, and your carrier bills the use as roaming.
Can I call emergency numbers with QuikRing on Celebrity Cruises?
No. QuikRing cannot call emergency numbers. On board, use the ship's emergency procedure and the contact numbers Celebrity Cruises gives you.
